Updated: 4 October 2026
Uttar Pradesh does not currently subsidise a tractor for an individual farmer through the agriculture department's yantra booking. The 2026 booking, open from 16 July to 10 August 2026, covered drones, custom hiring centres, farm machinery banks, crop residue machines, sprayers, threshers and similar items, and the reports of it name no tractor. The centres the scheme funds are hiring centres and machinery banks, not individual ownership of a tractor.
A tractor buyer in UP therefore plans on a loan and on hiring, not on a subsidy cheque. The booking system below still matters, because it pays for the implements that go behind the tractor. National tractor norms are on the tractor subsidy page.
What the 2026 booking covered
- Schemes: Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) and the crop residue management (CRM) scheme. One report also names RKVY.
- Machines named in reports: agricultural drones, farm machinery banks, custom hiring centres, super seeders, harrows, cultivators, rotavators, straw reapers, multi-crop threshers, power chaff cutters, combine harvesters, sprayers (human, power and battery), millet planters and threshers, bed planters, maize shellers, popping machines, batch dryers, dal mills and track-mounted sugarcane harvesters.
- Tractor: not named for individual farmers in any of these reports. The national SMAM table does list tractors, but a state decides which items it opens, and the 2026 UP list as reported does not.
- Order: the booking was reported under a Shasanadesh dated 4 June 2026 (number 36/2026/676/1918166/12-2099/119/2025, as printed by ETV Bharat).
Portal and token money
Booking is on the agriculture department website, agriculture.up.gov.in, through the Kisan Corner link named Yantra Booking Prarambh. A 2025 report named agridarshan.up.gov.in for the same link. Booking is by development block.
| Subsidy on the machine | Token money (refundable) |
|---|---|
| ₹10,001 to ₹1,00,000 | ₹2,500 |
| More than ₹1,00,000 | ₹5,000 |
- One booking token is allowed per mobile number. A parent, sibling or child's number may be used if needed.
- Selection: Rural Voice calls it first-come, first-served, while ETV Bharat's Farrukhabad report says selection is by e-lottery after token confirmation. Read together, the token booking opens on a first-come basis and a lottery decides where bookings exceed the target for a block.
Subsidy rates
The reports of the 2026 booking do not print percentages or rupee ceilings, and the full department notice is not reproduced in them. Project costs named for centres are ₹10 lakh for an SMAM custom hiring centre and a mini centre, ₹30 lakh for a CRM centre and ₹100 lakh for an FPO, as reported. The percentage on each item is in the notice on the department site. No tractor rate for UP is published in any source used here, so none is given.
Eligibility and documents
One guide lists the documents as Aadhaar-linked mobile and bank account, a land record (khatauni or LPC copy), proof of UP residence and registration on the state farmer service portal. The guide is a secondary source, so match it to the notice for your block.
Steps after token booking
- Open agriculture.up.gov.in, go to Kisan Corner and choose Yantra Booking Prarambh.
- Log in, pick the machine and block, and pay the token money online.
- Wait for the result. A farmer who is not selected gets the token back, one guide says within 6 months.
- If selected, buy from a registered dealer within the window given, one guide says 30 to 45 days.
- Upload the bill and photos. District officials then verify the machine on the spot.
- The subsidy goes to the bank account by DBT after verification.
The step list is from a guide, not the portal, so follow the screen where it differs.
Dates
The booking ran from 12 noon on 16 July 2026 to midnight on 10 August 2026. An earlier announcement named 30 July as the end date. No new window is announced yet.
If you want a tractor in UP
- Loan: compare bank rates on the tractor loan page and run the monthly cost on the EMI calculator.
- Price: check ex-showroom prices on tractors and the full cost on the on-road price tool.
- Dealers: see tractor dealers.
- Implements: the booking above pays for them. Browse implements first, then check the subsidy finder.
- Hiring: custom hiring centres and farm machinery banks are what the UP scheme actually funds, so a tractor can often be hired nearby.
Planning a tractor purchase without a subsidy
- Budget the full on-road price, since no UP subsidy reduces it for an individual farmer at present.
- If a later UP booking adds tractors, the token money and the purchase window above show how the process would work, so keep land records and an Aadhaar-linked bank account ready.
- Implements booked under the scheme are paid by DBT after verification, so the full price is paid first and the buyer should plan that cash.
Who to contact
ETV Bharat points farmers to the Deputy Director of Agriculture office of their district. No helpline number from the department was confirmed.
