The government-fixed MRP of urea is ₹242 per 45 kg bag (₹5.38/kg). This is heavily subsidized - actual cost to government is ₹2,200-2,500/bag. No dealer can sell above MRP. If overcharged, report to District Agriculture Officer or call 1800-180-1551 (fertilizer helpline).
Which fertilizer is best for wheat crop? +
For wheat: Apply DAP (50 kg/acre) + MOP (25 kg/acre) at sowing as basal dose. Then apply Urea in 2 split doses: 35 kg/acre at first irrigation (21-25 days) and 35 kg/acre at second irrigation (40-45 days). Total nitrogen requirement: 60-80 kg N/acre.
How to check if fertilizer is genuine or fake? +
Check: 1) Batch number and manufacturing date on bag 2) QR code - scan with fertilizer tracking app 3) Buy from licensed dealer only 4) Look for ISI mark on bag 5) Report suspicious fertilizer to state agriculture department. Fake fertilizer has no batch number or has blurred printing.
