Madhya Pradesh records are kept on MP Bhulekh, mpbhulekh.gov.in. The two papers farmers are asked for are the khasra (one plot) and the B-1 (all the plots one person holds in a village). The free copy is for reference, and official use needs a certified copy.

Menu labels and fees below come from guides, which differ on the labels, so follow the screen on the portal. The common terms are explained on the all-India land records page.

What khasra and B-1 show

  • Khasra: one plot, with survey number, area, soil type, current crop and recorded owner, according to one guide.
  • B-1: the owner's account across the whole village: all plots held, co-owners, pending mutations and revenue payment status, according to the same guide.
  • Why both: a khasra alone does not show a pending mutation or the other plots in the account, so a buyer or lender should ask for the B-1 as well.

Menu path: what two guides say

The two descriptions differ: the ULPIN option appears in only one guide and the khata option in only the other. Open mpbhulekh.gov.in and follow the screen: pick the district, tehsil and village, then enter the khasra or khata number. Download the khasra and the B-1 separately.

Need help with land records, mutation or correction?

Free copy and certified copy

  • Free copy: instant and for information only, per 1acre.in.
  • Certified, digitally signed copy: through the portal or the local tehsil office. Guides say a fee may apply and that it varies by district, but give no amount. Ask at the tehsil office.
  • Offline route: a guide says to apply at the tehsil office with an ID proof and the khasra number.

Namantaran (mutation)

  • Portal: a Public Relations Department item of 22 June 2020 names rcms.mp.gov.in. Anyone can apply there, or through an MP Online kiosk, a Lok Seva Kendra, the patwari or the panchayat secretary, and the applicant gets an online acknowledgement. The item lists categories such as inheritance, registered sale, gift deed, court decree and mortgage registration or release.
  • Another route: one guide says mutation is tracked on mpbhulekh.gov.in with a Request ID, and gives 45 days for undisputed cases and no fee for rural mutation. Treat this as unconfirmed.
  • Uttara app: a 2017 state item describes an app for demarcation, partition, namantaran and certificate applications, with patwari dashboards and status by mobile number. Whether it is still in use is not confirmed.

Errors, maps and helpline

  • Correction: a guide says to get a correction order from the Tehsildar when the name does not match. Fee and time limit are not stated.
  • Bhu-naksha: A guide names bhunaksha.mp.gov.in for maps. This site and its link to the khasra record are not confirmed.
  • Helpline: no government helpline number is confirmed. Ask at the tehsil office.

Units and next steps

The area unit on the khasra and B-1 is not stated. Read the unit heading on your own copy, and use the land area converter, where the bigha size can be set.

Keep the khasra and khata numbers for Farmer ID registration, the Kisan Credit Card and PM-Kisan. Other states are on the land records page.
