Convert Any Land Measurement

India uses many land units side by side - acre and hectare on official records, and local units like bigha, guntha, cent and gaj in everyday dealing. This converter turns any value into all the others at once, so you can read a sale deed, compare a listing, or plan inputs without confusion. Standard units use fixed, exact conversions.

A Note on Bigha

Unlike acre or hectare, bigha is not standardised - one bigha can mean very different areas in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, West Bengal, Gujarat or Punjab, and even "pucca" and "kachha" bigha differ. Enter how many square feet your local bigha is (ask your patwari or check your land record) and the converter will use that figure. When in doubt, rely on the acre or hectare value printed on your official land record.

💡 Quick reference: 1 acre = 0.4047 hectare = 40 guntha = 100 cent = 4,840 square yards (gaj) = 43,560 square feet. 1 hectare = 2.47 acres.
