Manage rice diseases organically by combining resistant varieties, seed treatment with Trichoderma or Pseudomonas fluorescens, balanced organic nutrition, and good water and spacing management to reduce humidity in the canopy. Treat seed and seedling roots with bio-agents before transplanting, apply well decomposed FYM and green manure like dhaincha, and avoid excess nitrogen that invites blast and sheath blight. Wider spacing, field sanitation, removal of infected stubble, and neem based sprays help suppress pests and disease. Foliar sprays of cow based preparations and Pseudomonas are used by many organic growers. Organic methods work best as prevention, so start early and keep the crop healthy rather than reacting late.

Trichoderma seed treatment plus dhaincha green manure cut my disease pressure. Prevention is the key in organic.

Buy fresh bio-agents and check the date. Old or badly stored Trichoderma did nothing for me one year. Store it cool and use it within the shelf life printed on the pack.

Wider spacing made the biggest difference in my organic plot. The open canopy dried faster after rain and blast and sheath blight stayed low without any chemical.

Be realistic, organic works as prevention, not as a rescue once disease is heavy. Start seed treatment and green manure from the beginning. Reacting late, I lost part of a crop and learnt this.

Removing and burying the old infected stubble between seasons cut my carryover disease a lot. Field sanitation is free and underrated in organic farming.

If you want a certified organic premium, keep records of every input from the start and check the standards. Buyers asked me for the spray and input diary, so maintain it even for bio-inputs.

Green manure like dhaincha ploughed in before paddy improved my soil and reduced the urge to add nitrogen. Healthier soil meant a healthier crop that resisted disease better over a few seasons.
