MahaDBT lottery is the key step. I applied for sprinkler, got selected in the draw, installed through a registered company, and got the amount in my account after the inspection. Apply when the window is open.

Make sure your 7/12 and 8A are recent and your name matches the Aadhaar exactly. A small name mismatch held up my file at verification and I had to upload a correction. On MahaDBT a clean document set moves much faster after selection.

Pick the vendor from the approved list on the portal, not just any local shop. The subsidy is released only when the installation and the e-bill come from a registered supplier and the field officer confirms it on site. I kept the company in touch for the inspection day.
