I purchased farm land six months ago and got the registry done. I am not yet getting PM-Kisan. How do I register for PM-Kisan on newly purchased land, and does the land need to first show in my name in the records?

The most important step before PM-Kisan will work on newly purchased land is mutation. A registry or sale deed transfers ownership legally, but PM-Kisan land seeding uses the official land record (khasra, khatauni or record of rights), and that record only updates to your name after mutation, called dakhil kharij or namantaran, is completed. So even though you have the registry, if the revenue record still shows the seller's name, PM-Kisan land seeding for you will fail. Step one, apply for and complete mutation at your tehsil or revenue office so your name appears in the land record. Step two, once your name is in the record, register for PM-Kisan on the official pmkisan.gov.in portal under New Farmer Registration, or do it through a CSC, keeping your Aadhaar, bank details and the updated land record ready. Step three, complete eKYC and make sure your Aadhaar is NPCI seeded to your bank for DBT. After registration your application goes for verification and land seeding against the updated record, so it is not instant. If the seller was also drawing PM-Kisan on that same land, the system should stop their benefit once the land moves to you, since benefit follows ownership. To summarise, complete mutation first, then register, then finish eKYC and bank seeding. Use only official channels throughout.

Exactly, registry is not enough. I learnt this the hard way, my seeding failed for months until I did the namantaran and my name came in the jamabandi.

Do the mutation fast, sometimes the previous owner keeps getting the money till the record changes.
