For Kharif Marketing Season 2025-26 the paddy MSP is Rs 2,369 per quintal for common grade and Rs 2,389 per quintal for Grade A, announced by the Cabinet in May 2025. This was a hike of Rs 69 per quintal over the previous year. Sell only Fair Average Quality grain with moisture below 17 percent at government procurement centres to get the full rate. Register on your state procurement portal, keep your land record and Aadhaar linked bank account ready, and watch for the gunny bag and token system in mandis. Always confirm the current rate on the official CACP or state agriculture department site before selling.

Last year I got Grade A rate for my Pusa 1121 only after drying it properly. Wet dhan gets rejected or cut, so spread it 2 days before mandi.

In Telangana the same central MSP applies, but the state sometimes adds support through its own procurement. Check your local PACS or IKP centre for the token date so you do not wait long with loaded trolleys.

One caution from my side. MSP is only useful if a procurement centre near you is actually open and lifting grain. In some years private buyers offer below MSP when centres are slow, so confirm with the mandi board before you harvest in a hurry.
