Gulli danda is not dying even after spraying the same herbicide I have used for years.

Resistant Phalaris minor (gulli danda) is best managed by rotating herbicide modes of action, not just repeating the same product year after year, and by combining chemical control with cultural practices. Alternate between different recommended post-emergence chemistries across seasons, use the correct dose with a flat-fan nozzle and proper water volume, and spray at the right small-weed stage. Add cultural tools like crop rotation, zero-till or Happy Seeder sowing, stale seedbed and clean certified seed to reduce the weed seed bank. Exact products and rotation plans should come from your KVK since resistance patterns differ locally.

I started rotating my herbicides and added a pre-emergence one. The gulli danda pressure dropped a lot compared to using one product every year.

Spray timing and water volume were my real fix. I was spraying late when the gulli danda was already at four to five leaves and tough. Now I spray when it is small with a flat-fan nozzle and enough water to wet the weed properly, and even my old product works far better. Many failures are application problems, not pure resistance.

Breaking the rice-wheat cycle helped me most. I put one field under wheat-mustard and another under a summer green manure, and the gulli danda seed bank dropped a lot in those plots. It will not solve everything alone, but rotation plus rotating chemicals together really turned it around.
