Sell paddy at MSP through government procurement at notified mandis where agencies like FCI and state agencies buy dry, Fair Average Quality grain. The KMS 2025-26 MSP is Rs 2,369 per quintal for common and Rs 2,389 for Grade A. Register on the state procurement portal, link your land record (girdawari) and Aadhaar-seeded bank account, and get an arrival token. Bring grain with moisture under 17 percent, clean and free of foreign matter, to avoid cuts or rejection. Payment is usually made directly to your bank account. Basmati is not under MSP and is sold to private buyers at market rates. Confirm dates and portal details with the state mandi board.

Keep your bank account Aadhaar seeded well before the season or the payment gets stuck. I had to run to the bank during peak mandi rush one year. Sort it out early.

Clean and sieve the grain before the trolley reaches the mandi. Foreign matter cuts add up. The inspectors check moisture and cleanliness both, so do not skip either.
