Control paddy weeds with a pre-emergence herbicide such as pretilachlor or pyrazosulfuron applied 2 to 3 days after transplanting on a thin water film, followed by a post-emergence herbicide like bispyribac sodium around 15 to 20 days if grassy and broadleaf weeds escape. In DSR weed pressure is higher, so pendimethalin within 1 to 2 days of sowing is key. Keep a thin layer of water after transplanting to suppress weed germination, and avoid letting the field dry early. Echinochloa (sawan grass) is the main yield robber. Always use the labelled dose with correct water volume, and confirm timing with your local KVK.

Sawan grass eats my yield if I miss the early spray. Pre-emergence on time is half the battle.

Water level decides how well pre-emergence works. Too much water and the herbicide is diluted, too dry and weeds escape. A thin even film on a level field gave me the best result.

Caution, do not spray bispyribac when the field is flooded deep, keep water low at spray time then re-flood. Also use the labelled water volume per acre or coverage is poor. Confirm with your KVK.
