The wheat MSP for the 2025-26 rabi marketing season is Rs 2,425 per quintal. For the 2026-27 rabi marketing season the government has raised it by Rs 160 to Rs 2,585 per quintal. The increase is based on the recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP). To sell at MSP you must register on your state procurement portal (such as e-procurement in Punjab, Haryana or Madhya Pradesh) before the procurement window opens, usually from 1 April. Always confirm the current rate and any state bonus on the official portal or with your local mandi, as state bonuses can add to the central MSP.
Remember the MSP is the central floor price. Some states add a bonus on top in some years, so the effective rate at your centre can be higher. Always check your own state notice before the season instead of assuming.
To actually get MSP you must bring clean, dry grain that meets fair average quality, mainly the moisture limit. The year my grain was a bit damp the centre made me dry it again before lifting. Worth drying properly before you go.
