Reddish brown pustules in rows under my wheat leaves, different from yellow rust

The lower side of my gehu leaves has orange to reddish brown raised dots, and the spots seem more random than the neat stripes I saw before.

Orange to reddish brown raised pustules scattered fairly randomly on the leaves, rather than in the neat continuous stripes of yellow rust, are typical of leaf rust, also called brown rust, which usually comes a little later and in slightly warmer weather than yellow rust. Confirming which rust it is matters because the timing of action differs, so please send a close photo of the upper and lower leaf to your KVK or agri officer. Cultural points are the same for all rusts: lush, dense, over fertilised crops with dewy mornings are most at risk, so avoid excess nitrogen and watch the lower leaves first. Growing resistant varieties is the strongest long term defence. If the officer confirms leaf rust and it is spreading while the crop is still some weeks from harvest, common fungicides use actives such as propiconazole or tebuconazole, but follow the label dose, the pre-harvest interval and the local KVK recommendation and rotate the mode of action. Acting before it reaches the flag leaf protects the grain filling.

The officer told me from my photo it was leaf rust, not yellow rust, and to watch the flag leaf. Treated in time and it stayed clean.

A resistant variety the KVK suggested gets much less rust on my farm than my old seed used to.
