I grow Chausa in north India. Buyers say it is a late premium mango. What makes Chausa special compared to Dasheri and Langra, and what is its market timing?

Chausa (also spelled Chaunsa) is the prized late-season mango of north India and Pakistan border belt, known for very sweet, rich, fibreless juicy pulp and a strong aroma when ripe, with golden-yellow skin. Its big commercial advantage is timing: it ripens late, roughly late July into August, after Dasheri and Langra are done, so it meets a thinner market and often fetches a better rate. It is also a good keeper and travels well, which helps for distant markets and export. Like other north Indian mangoes it tends to alternate bear and needs hopper, anthracnose and fruit fly management. Because it ripens in the hot humid monsoon, careful maturity judgement and proper ripening (not carbide) are important to get the full flavour and avoid spoilage.

Chausa is my money maker because it sells when others have finished. Late season rate is usually higher. Just watch for fruit fly in the rains.

It keeps well too. I can hold and transport Chausa better than soft early varieties.
