Indian spices have wide demand, with major buyers across the Middle East, the United States, Europe, and South and East Asia, but the exact top markets shift year to year, so check current Spices Board and APEDA trade data for turmeric and chilli specifically. For spices, the relevant body is the Spices Board of India, and you typically need Spices Board registration (CRES) in addition to your IEC. To reach buyers: register with the Spices Board, attend spice trade fairs and buyer-seller meets, and connect through reputed spice exporters. Critically, spice buyers test for pesticide residue, aflatoxin, Sudan dye and microbial limits, and many markets reject lots that fail, so clean drying, no artificial colour, and proper storage to avoid mould are essential. Start by supplying an established spice exporter to learn the quality bar. Confirm Spices Board registration and current market data on the Spices Board portal.

For spices you need Spices Board registration, not just APEDA. We learned that the hard way. Get CRES from the Spices Board.

Aflatoxin in chilli and turmeric is the silent killer for export. Dry properly, store dry, no mould. One contaminated lot and the buyer blacklists you.

Never add colour to chilli or turmeric for export. Sudan dye testing will catch it and your whole consignment is destroyed and you can be banned.
