Current status
MSEDCL portal live as of 1 Oct 2026 (its menu shows 'New Applications (Land Owner)', 'New Applications (Forest Rights Land)' and a notice about lineman assignment for October 2026); no application closing date or quota notice found on the official pages. News report: KS Agrowon, 13 Sep 2026, reports MSEDCL issued a Letter of Empanelment to Shakti Pumps for 10,000 off-grid pumps (3/5/7.5 HP, about Rs 235.92 crore incl. GST, 60 days from work order).

Maharashtra had 4,66,719 standalone pumps installed against 5,75,000 sanctioned under PM-KUSUM Component B (30.11.2025 (PIB, Lok Sabha USQ 1770 of 10.12.2025)).

Eligibility
- Farmer with a sustainable water source and no conventional agricultural electricity connection
- Priority to farmers with pending payment with MSEDCL who are not yet connected
- Pump size by land held: up to 2.5 acres 3 HP; 2.51-5 acres 5 HP; above 5 acres 7.5 HP (a smaller pump than entitled can be requested)
- If not sole owner of the land, NOC of other co-owners is mandatory
- If water source is in a dark zone, NOC from Groundwater Survey Dept is mandatory
- Installed pump cannot be sold or transferred (GoM clarification 05.03.2024)

Good to know
Farmer pays 10% of pump price (general) and 5% (SC/ST) per MSEDCL FAQ; the central/state split of the remainder is not stated on the FAQ page (central share field is the PM-KUSUM general 30% rule). FAQ states 2,63,156 solar agri pumps installed in the state as on 06.09.2024 across all earlier schemes (Atal Solar, Mukhyamantri Solar Krushi Pump, PM-KUSUM B). Maintenance/repair period 5 years.
