When land seeding shows "No", it means the PM-KISAN portal does not yet have a verified land record attached to your entry, and the installment can stay stopped until that is fixed. The correction is done through the state: you take your land papers to the block or district nodal officer, or raise the problem on the portal Help Desk.
Land seeding is not optional. PIB states that land seeding was made mandatory along with Aadhaar-based payment and e-KYC, and that the benefits of farmers who did not complete these were stopped. The latest installment is the 23rd, released on 20 June 2026; no later one has been announced and this article gives no date.
What land seeding means
PM-KISAN pays landholding farmer families. The state government identifies eligible families, verifies them and uploads the details to the portal. "Seeding" the land record means your land details, taken from the state land records, are matched and attached to your PM-KISAN entry. PIB says benefits are provided once land records are seeded on the portal, along with the Aadhaar-linked bank account and e-KYC.
This is different from e-KYC, which confirms your identity (e-KYC steps), and from bank seeding (Aadhaar bank seeding). A farmer can be complete on those two and still be stopped because of land.
The status screen is on the portal under Farmers Corner > Know Your Status; see PM Kisan beneficiary status. Exact wording of the land line can differ on screen, so read what is shown against land and treat anything other than complete as pending.
Common reasons land stays unseeded
| Situation | Why it blocks seeding | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
| Land is still in a deceased parent's or grandfather's name | The record shows another owner, so it cannot be matched to you. | Tehsil or revenue office for mutation; then tell the nodal officer. |
| Name or spelling differs between Aadhaar, bank and land record | The portal cannot match the entries. PIB notes name mismatch across documents is a known difficulty. | Raise it through the grievance route; see below. |
| Land bought or acquired after 1 February 2019 | The portal notice says such cases are among those withheld until physical verification. | Ask the nodal officer how your case is treated; carry the sale or transfer papers. |
| Joint or shared record | Several owners on one record; more than one family member may be drawing benefit. | Nodal officer decides who is the beneficiary for the family. |
| Your state has not uploaded or verified the record | Verification and upload are state tasks. | Block or district agriculture office. |
The official pages checked do not spell out how inherited land or new purchases are treated; the state applies the rules. Do not assume you are ineligible; ask the nodal officer in writing.
How to get it corrected
- Collect your papers: your state land record (the extract your tehsil or patwari office issues), Aadhaar, bank passbook, and your PM-KISAN registration number.
- Visit the block or district agriculture office and ask for the PM-KISAN nodal officer. PIB says states appoint nodal officers at block, district and state level, and that the District Agriculture Officer or Collector normally attends to such grievances. On the portal, Search your Point of Contact (POC) under Farmers Corner is meant to help you find yours.
- Raise it on the portal: use Helpdesk - Query Form in Farmers Corner. PIB says the complaint goes directly to the concerned nodal officer. Write your registration number and the exact problem.
- Update details if asked: Farmers Corner also lists Update Missing Information and Edit / Update Self Registration. Use them only if your nodal officer or the screen asks for a missing or wrong item.
- Check status again after the officer confirms the correction. The state has to verify and approve the change on the portal; no timeline is stated, so keep the acknowledgement.
Farmer ID and the farmer registry
PIB (10 March 2026) says Farmer ID is mandatory only for new registrations in the 19 states where farmer-registry work has started, and a grievance route exists for land or name mismatch so that the farmer can still get registered. If you are already a beneficiary, the fix is the correction above. See the farmer registry page for the ID itself. Scheme basics are on the PM Kisan page.
Fake helpers and OTP fraud
- Nobody can "seed" your land by phone or app. Do not install APK files or open links that promise to fix land seeding.
- Do not share OTP, bank PIN or card details with anyone claiming to be from PM-KISAN. Use only pmkisan.gov.in typed in your browser and the official app.
- Do not pay anyone to get your land record attached.
