You can check your PM-KISAN beneficiary status on the official portal, pmkisan.gov.in, using your registration number or other details it asks for, or by calling the 24x7 IVRS helpline 155261. The status tells you whether you are registered, whether the instalments were paid, and, if not, what is pending: usually e-KYC, Aadhaar-bank seeding or land seeding.
The Ministry's own description of the scheme says benefits are provided to farmers whose land records are seeded on the portal, whose bank account is linked with Aadhaar, and who have completed e-KYC. Almost every "my money did not come" case is one of those three.
Where the scheme stands (as of 2 October 2026)
- The 23rd instalment was released on 20 June 2026: about ₹18,880 crore to over 9.44 crore farmers (PIB, 20 June 2026). A later Cabinet note (31 July 2026) puts the 23rd-instalment figure at more than 9.49 crore farmers and over ₹18,984 crore, so the totals were updated after release.
- On 31 July 2026 the Union Cabinet approved continuing PM-KISAN from 2026-27 to 2030-31 with an outlay of ₹3.15 lakh crore. The benefit is still ₹6,000 a year in three equal instalments of ₹2,000.
- If your 23rd instalment was missed, the status page is the first place to find out why.
Ways to check
1. On the portal
- Open pmkisan.gov.in in your browser (type it yourself; do not follow links from messages).
- Go to Farmers Corner and open the beneficiary status option.
- Enter the details it asks for (registration number or the identifiers offered on the page) and the captcha.
- Read each instalment line. Look for the payment state and any note about e-KYC, Aadhaar or land.
If you do not remember your registration number, ask the CSC or the block agriculture office to look up your record.
2. By phone
The Ministry has described 155261 as a 24x7 IVRS-based helpline through which farmers can check beneficiary status. No other number appears on an official page, so none is listed here. If a number is sent to you over WhatsApp, treat it as unverified.
3. Kisan e-Mitra and the Help Desk
Kisan e-Mitra is the government's AI chatbot, launched in September 2023 (with EkStep Foundation and BHASHINI support), which answers questions on payments, registration and eligibility in several Indian languages. The Help Desk under Farmers Corner sends a grievance directly to your state nodal officer.
4. Offline
Common Service Centres, and block or tehsil agriculture offices, can look up your record. The Ministry notes these exist for farmers who do not have mobile phones.
What the common statuses mean and what to do
| What you see | Likely meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Not found / not registered | No application on record for the details you used, or a different identifier was used | Retry with another identifier; if still absent, register (see Farmer ID note below) |
| e-KYC pending | Payment is held until identity authentication is done | Do it by OTP, app face scan or CSC: PM Kisan e-KYC guide |
| Land seeding / land record issue | State has not verified or uploaded your land record | Meet the block agriculture or revenue office with your record |
| Bank / Aadhaar mismatch | Account not Aadhaar-seeded, closed, or name differs | Visit your bank; correct the name in the wrong record |
| Payment shows as processed but no money | Instruction sent but credit not seen yet, or account inactive | Check passbook and SMS; if absent after a few working days, ask the bank, then the Help Desk |
The wording on the live page may differ from this table. Treat the table as a guide to the type of problem; the portal's own message is what counts.
Registering if you are not in the list
New farmers can self-register through the web portal or mobile app, or at a CSC or with state officials. A Lok Sabha reply on 10 March 2026 said Farmer ID is mandatory only for new registrations in the 19 states where farmer-registry work has begun; elsewhere you can register without it. Existing beneficiaries were not described as needing a new Farmer ID. The same reply says a grievance route exists for farmers whose name or land details do not match across documents.
Eligibility is based on cultivable land, with exclusions for higher economic status. The PIB reply of 18 March 2025 names income tax payees, employees of PSUs and of central and state governments, and constitutional post holders as examples of ineligible categories, and says states must recover payments made to ineligible beneficiaries. Stay safe
- Check status only on pmkisan.gov.in, in the official Play Store app, or via 155261. Do not use links sent by message or "status check" websites that ask for money.
- No genuine status check needs your OTP, bank PIN or card details. Never share an OTP with a caller who says your instalment is stuck.
- Nobody can legally charge you to "release" or "approve" an instalment.
- For the date of the next instalment, see PM Kisan 24th instalment.
