PM Kisan New Farmer Registration Online: Documents and Step-by-Step Process

New PM Kisan registration online: who can apply, documents and Farmer ID rules, the Farmers Corner steps, and what to do after you submit the form.

You can register as a new PM-KISAN farmer online from Farmers Corner > New Farmer Registration on pmkisan.gov.in, through the PM-KISAN mobile app, or at a Common Service Centre (CSC). You need your Aadhaar, an Aadhaar-seeded bank account, a mobile number, and your land record. In states where the farmer registry has started, a Farmer ID is also required.

PIB's 20 June 2026 note describes registration this way: the farmer registers through the portal, the app or a CSC; the state verifies eligibility and uploads the details; the system validates Aadhaar and bank account and screens out ineligible applicants; and the state gives the final approval before payment. The latest installment is the 23rd (20 June 2026). No date for the next has been announced, and nobody can promise when a new registrant will get a first payment.

Who can register

  • A landholding farmer family with cultivable land. A family means husband, wife and minor children, and one family gets one benefit of ₹6,000 a year in three installments of ₹2,000.
  • Not in an excluded group: institutional landholders; present or former holders of constitutional posts, ministers and elected representatives (MPs, MLAs, MLCs), mayors and district panchayat chairpersons; serving or retired central or state government employees (multi-tasking or Group D excepted); pensioners drawing ₹10,000 or more a month (same exception); anyone who paid income tax in the last assessment year; and registered professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects practising.
  • The portal flags land acquired after 1 February 2019 for physical verification. Check with the nodal officer before applying if this is you.

Farmer ID (where the state's registry has begun)PIB: mandatory for new PM-KISAN registrations in the 19 states where registry work has started; not needed where it has not.
Your name, age and category as in recordsThe beneficiary database holds name, age, category, Aadhaar, bank and mobile; mismatches cause delay.

PIB's 10 March 2026 figure of 19 states can change as the registry spreads. Check your state's position with the agriculture office before you start. If you do not yet have an ID, see the farmer registry page; PIB says self-registration through mobile and web, CSCs and operators are the modes states use.

Step by step

  1. Open pmkisan.gov.in in your browser (type it yourself) and go to Farmers Corner > New Farmer Registration. Or install the PM-KISAN app from the Play Store, or go to a CSC. More than 5 lakh CSCs are onboarded for registration and e-KYC, per PIB.
  2. Enter Aadhaar and mobile details and verify by OTP when asked. Fill the personal, land and bank details exactly as in your documents. Screens can vary by state, so follow what is shown; field names are not listed here for that reason.
  3. Submit and write down the acknowledgement or registration number. Under Farmers Corner, Status of Self Registered Farmer/ CSC Farmers shows how your application stands, and Know Your Status works once you have a registration number.
  4. Wait for the state to verify. PIB says village-level lists of eligible beneficiaries are displayed, and farmers left out can seek inclusion through grievance redressal. No fixed time for approval is announced.
  5. Complete e-KYC (e-KYC online). The portal says e-KYC is mandatory for registered farmers.
💡 Tip: Double-check name spelling, Aadhaar, account number and IFSC before submitting. PIB notes that name mismatch across documents is a common reason eligible farmers face difficulty.

If your application is stuck

Use Edit / Update Self Registration or Update Missing Information if the screen asks for it, then follow the checks for a missing installment and how to file a complaint. Scheme rules are on the PM Kisan scheme page.

Fake registration sites and fees

  • Register only on pmkisan.gov.in, the official app, or a CSC. Do not install APK files from WhatsApp or click "registration" links in messages.
  • Do not give your OTP, PIN or card number to anyone. Registration does not need them.
  • No fee schedule for CSC services is published on the official pages checked, so do not assume any payment is required; ask the CSC to state the charge first.
