What overall benefits, subsidy and KCC support does PMMSY give to fish farmers?

The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) is the flagship scheme for fisheries, supporting activities like new ponds, RAS and biofloc units, fish seed and feed, cages, hatcheries, ice plants, cold chain, fish kiosks and transport. The government financial assistance for beneficiary-oriented projects is generally up to 40 percent of unit cost for the General category and up to 60 percent for SC, ST and women beneficiaries. Fish farmers can also get a Kisan Credit Card (KCC) for working capital and insurance support. Apply through your State Fisheries Department, which fixes the unit costs and appraises the project. Because components and unit costs are revised periodically, confirm the current list and subsidy with your District Fisheries Officer or the NFDB before applying.
The KCC for fisheries was the most useful part for me, more than the capital subsidy. It gave me working money for seed, feed and lime through the season. Ask your bank about KCC for fish farmers along with the project application.
