Yes. Support for beekeeping is mainly available under the National Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM), implemented through the National Bee Board, and also through state horticulture departments and the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH). Assistance can cover bee colonies, boxes, honey extractors, processing units and training, with the subsidy share and per-unit cost varying by state and category. KVKs and some FPOs also run beekeeping programmes. Apply through your District Horticulture Officer or the State Horticulture Mission, and register on the Madhukranti portal for traceability. Because rates and components change each year, confirm the current subsidy percentage and eligible items with your horticulture department or KVK before buying equipment.

Going through an FPO or a registered beekeeping group made the paperwork much easier for me than applying alone. The group handled the Madhukranti registration and the bulk equipment order. Ask if there is a beekeeping cluster or society in your area.

Do the training first, even before the subsidy. I bought subsidised boxes one year with no real skill and lost colonies. The next year after KVK training the same boxes did well. Equipment without knowledge just becomes empty boxes.
