Ivy gourd (tindora) is a useful low maintenance perennial cucurbit that, once established on a trellis, fruits over several years and is picked frequently, giving a steady moderate tonnage of fruit per acre per season. It usually fetches a fair and fairly steady rate in southern and western markets where it is a popular vegetable, smoother than the big swings of seasonal gourds. The main cost is the first year trellis and establishment, after which costs are low. Profit is moderate but reliable, and the steady year round picking suits a grower who wants regular income. Check that your local market wants tindora, look at the current rate, and ask nearby growers for realistic yields before deciding.

Tindora is steady money once the trellis is up, it picks again and again for years and the rate does not crash as wildly as seasonal gourds. The first year setup costs more, after that it is cheap to run.
