How do I control rust and wilt in masur (lentil)?

Brown powdery pustules on leaves and stems point to lentil rust, which spreads fast in cool humid weather near flowering. Plants that wilt and die in patches, especially early, usually have fusarium wilt that builds up with repeated lentil cropping. The best defence is a variety that resists both, plus crop rotation and seed treatment with a bio agent and recommended fungicide. For rust, an early protective spray at first sign, following the label, can check spread, but variety choice matters most. Avoid waterlogging, which worsens wilt. Take a few affected plants to your KVK to confirm rust versus wilt versus other root issues before you spray.
