Market price and stability for pangasius.

Pangasius usually sells at a modest farm gate price compared with premium fish, because it is a high volume, low to medium price fish, and the rate can fall when many farmers harvest at once or supply is high. It sells to local markets, traders, processors and bulk buyers, and large quantities make it suited to traders and processing. Since the margin per kilo is thin, profit comes from high yield per pond and tight control of feed cost, so a price dip or a feed cost rise can quickly erase profit. Before scaling, check the local price trend and whether processors or bulk buyers operate near you, since selling a large harvest needs ready buyers. Verify the realistic price range and demand with your mandi traders and state Fisheries department.
Pangasius price is low per kilo, so I only made money through high yield and controlling feed cost. When everyone harvested together the rate dropped. Plan your harvest timing and buyers.
