What is the IMD agromet advisory and how do I get it for my district?

The agromet advisory is a twice weekly bulletin that takes the 5 day district forecast and turns it into specific crop advice, and you can get it free through the Meghdoot app, your KVK, or by registering for SMS. IMD runs this under its agromet service with district agromet units and KVKs. Every Tuesday and Friday they issue a bulletin for your district that says what weather is expected and what to do in each major crop, such as when to irrigate, spray, sow or harvest given the forecast. To receive it, install the Meghdoot app and set your district, register your mobile number with your nearest KVK or on the official advisory service for free SMS, or ask your KVK for their WhatsApp group. The advisory is in local languages, which makes it easy to follow. It is more useful than a plain forecast because it already converts the weather into action for your crops, so make it a habit to read it twice a week during the season.
