In Maharashtra the Farmer ID is made on mhfr.agristack.gov.in. The farmer can do Aadhaar eKYC online, or take Aadhaar and a 7/12 extract to an Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra or Common Service Centre. The ID is also called the Farmer ID or Kisan Pehchaan Patra.
This page covers what is specific to Maharashtra; the general explanation is in the national Farmer Registry guide. In 2026 the biggest state-specific reason to complete it is the farm loan waiver, which asks for AgriStack verification.
Portal and helpdesk
- Portal: mhfr.agristack.gov.in. The registration page is mhfr.agristack.gov.in/farmer-registry-mh (listed on the Nanded district website).
- Helpdesk: 02025712712 is the Maharashtra help desk number (from the Nanded district website). No toll-free number is published.
- App: a Maharashtra Farmer Registry mobile app is not listed. The portal works in a phone browser.
- Self-registration: open. The portal offers Self, Operator, CSC and Sahayak modes, and a Marathi guide describes a farmer registering from a phone.
Why Maharashtra farmers are completing it in 2026
- Loan waiver: an Angel One report of 30 July 2026 says farmers eligible for the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana, about 56 lakh families, must complete AgriStack verification to receive the ₹2 lakh waiver. Verification uses data from 53 participating banks, Aadhaar records and digital land records. No deadline was stated.
- Scale: Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne said Maharashtra had issued more than 1.31 crore Farmer IDs by 4 March 2026, the highest of any state, and that no complaints of bogus IDs had been received.
- PM-Kisan and other schemes: see the PM-Kisan page. No Maharashtra-specific cut-off date is published.
Steps as the portal presents them
- Open mhfr.agristack.gov.in and choose the farmer login ("Log In as Farmer"). A new farmer verifies Aadhaar with an OTP and then links a mobile number. A Marathi guide describes entering the farmer details in Marathi.
- Add land by district, taluka, village, account number and survey number, then tap "Fetch Land Details". The land is pulled from the revenue record (the 7/12). Land from only one village can be added in one request.
- Select your plots and tap "Verify All Lands". If your name is missing in the owners list, the portal shows a link for that case.
- Sign with "Farmer Consent - eSign" using an Aadhaar OTP. The portal gives an Enrollment ID.
- If you stop midway, the draft is saved for a limited time. After it expires the portal requires eKYC to be done again.
Where to go in person
| Where | What to carry | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra | Aadhaar card, 7/12 land extract | Named by Angel One for offline AgriStack verification. |
| Common Service Centre | Aadhaar card, 7/12 land extract | The portal's CSC operator screen carries a Maharashtra-specific declaration: the operator confirms having identified the person and verified the holdings in the village against the online village revenue records. The CSC fee is not published; ask before you pay. |
| Own phone | Aadhaar-linked mobile | Online route through the portal. |
Documents
- Aadhaar card with a linked mobile number.
- The 7/12 extract (satbara). Use land records to see how to get a copy.
- Bank details are needed for scheme payments, not as an upload on the registration screens.
Status, download and corrections
- Status: "Check Approval Status" with "Search By Farmer Aadhaar Number", or search by Farmer Enrollment ID.
- Download: the portal has "Download PDF". A Marathi blog says the card is downloaded after logging in and quotes about 15 days for processing; that period is not confirmed by the portal.
- Wrong or rejected details: update and resubmit. Resubmission generates a new Enrollment ID.
- Land added later: use "Farmer Details Update" after approval to add more land.
- Name differs from the 7/12: the case goes to a verifier for manual confirmation.
- Complaints about a CSC: the minister said the government will inquire and act against a Common Service Centre if irregularities surface.
