In Bihar the Farmer ID is made on bhfr.agristack.gov.in. Note the letters: Bihar's portal is bhfr, not brfr. Registration needs Aadhaar-based eKYC, verification of land ownership and a digital signature. It is free, and the earlier ₹15 charge at CSCs and Vasudha Kendras has been scrapped.
This page covers what is specific to Bihar; the general explanation is in the national Farmer Registry guide. Bihar's drives have been tied to PM-Kisan beneficiaries, so check your instalment on the PM-Kisan page as well.
Portal and app
- Portal: bhfr.agristack.gov.in. It offers four registration modes: Self, Operator, CSC and Sahayak.
- App: a Bihar-specific Farmer Registry app is not listed.
- Self-registration: open online. The ID will hold land records, the Aadhaar number and the registered mobile number.
Bihar fee, campaigns and incentives
- Free: the Chief Secretary said farmers would not be charged for registration. The ₹15 service charge collected through CSCs and Vasudha Kendras was scrapped, and the cost is absorbed by the department.
- Campaigns: Samastipur started in December 2025. A mission-mode drive was scheduled for 2 to 6 February 2026, and the free registration period was reported extended to 11 February 2026. Reports of 15 February called it "Mission Mode-3".
- District targets: district magistrates were told to bring at least 50% of PM-Kisan beneficiary farmers in their district into the registry. Districts reaching 50% were to get ₹1.5 lakh, and those reaching 35% ₹50,000. Bihar was reported to qualify for ₹450 crore of central incentive funding.
- Later in 2026: an Indiagri report of 13 May 2026 said 40 lakh more Farmer IDs were to be issued. No current Bihar deadline is published; ask at your Vasudha Kendra or CSC.
Steps as the portal presents them
- Open bhfr.agristack.gov.in, choose the farmer login ("Log In as Farmer") and sign up with the Aadhaar number. An OTP goes to the Aadhaar-linked mobile.
- Check the details from Aadhaar eKYC. If verification fails, the portal asks the user to try again.
- Add the land using the jamabandi details, and tap "Fetch Land Details". Land from only one village can be added in one request.
- Select your plots and tap "Verify All Lands". If your name is not in the owners list, use the link the portal shows.
- Sign with "Farmer Consent - eSign" using an Aadhaar OTP. The portal gives an Enrollment ID.
- Wait for approval. The portal says you can sign in once designated authorities approve it.
