Tikka leaf spot on my groundnut, dark spots and leaves falling, what to do?

Round dark brown spots, early ones with a yellow halo and later ones darker, leading to drying and heavy leaf fall, is tikka leaf spot, the early and late leaf spot disease of groundnut. Defoliation at the pod filling stage directly cuts pod yield, so manage it before the canopy is stripped. Remove crop debris from the last groundnut crop and follow a rotation, since the fungus survives on residue. Start a recommended fungicide at first appearance of spots and repeat as per label in wet weather, rotating fungicide groups so resistance does not build. Chlorothalonil, mancozeb and triazole based products are commonly advised, but follow the label dose and PHI and the local recommendation. Balanced nutrition and avoiding water stress keep the plant strong. Confirm the disease and current fungicide with your KVK or Junagadh Agricultural University, which works a lot on groundnut.
