What is the demand and price reality for buckwheat (kuttu) flour?

Kuttu demand is real but seasonal and concentrated around the fasting festivals like Navratri, when kuttu atta sells heavily. Outside those windows demand drops. There is no MSP. The farm gate price for raw buckwheat grain has a wide range and is much lower than the retail price of branded kuttu atta, because the milling, packing and brand capture most of the value, and there have been food safety scares with adulterated kuttu flour that affect trust. So the steady money is for millers and packers, not always for the raw grain grower. If you want better value, mill clean flour yourself or through an FPO and sell into the festival demand, but mind food safety and shelf life. Check local trader rates and confirm a buyer, since this is a niche seasonal crop.
