How is Reishi (Ganoderma) grown and what conditions does it need?

Reishi is grown much like shiitake, on sterilised supplemented hardwood sawdust blocks or on wood logs, not on simple pasteurised straw. The blocks are fully sterilised, spawned, and colonised over several weeks until the mycelium runs through and the block firms up. Fruiting prefers warm temperatures with very high humidity and controlled fresh air, and the way you manage carbon dioxide and light shapes whether you get the typical antler form or the flat kidney shaped bracket. The fruiting body grows slowly over weeks and is then harvested and dried, since Reishi is sold dried. Because it needs full sterilisation and a long cycle, contamination control and facilities matter a lot. It is a technically demanding crop. Get the strain, exact temperature targets and method from DMR Solan or a State Agricultural University before attempting it.
