Why are my tulip bulbs not flowering or giving blind shoots?

Blind shoots, where the bulb gives leaves but no flower, usually trace to insufficient chilling, poor quality or small bulbs, or temperatures too warm during growth. Tulip needs a proper cold period before and during early growth, and if the bulbs were not properly pre cooled or your growing temperature ran too high, the flower bud aborts. Bulb size also matters, undersized bulbs often go blind. Use good sized, properly pre cooled bulbs from a reliable source, plant in genuinely cool conditions, and avoid heat stress. Check with your bulb supplier on the cooling treatment the bulbs received and with your KVK on whether your site temperatures suit tulip, because warmth is the usual culprit.
