Main pests in red cabbage and control.

Red cabbage faces the same pests as green cabbage: diamondback moth and cabbage butterfly caterpillars, aphids, and in some soils clubroot and black rot. Manage with clean nursery practice, crop rotation away from other cole crops, scouting, pheromone traps, and recommended biopesticides or labelled chemicals rotated by mode of action and following the pre harvest interval. Since heads go to premium fresh buyers, keep residue low and grade out marked heads. Diamondback moth resistance is common, so do not rely on one chemical. Confirm the local spray plan with your KVK.
Diamondback moth is the same problem as in my green cabbage. Rotating sprays and using traps keeps it down, repeating one chemical just stopped working for me.
