Apple ber can be a good earner on otherwise difficult dry land because it fruits early and yields build up quickly over the first few years. Per-acre yield and income vary widely with variety, plant spacing, pruning, irrigation and the price you get, so no single figure is reliable. The fruit is somewhat perishable and prices drop fast in a glut, so marketing and timing matter for your actual income. It sells in local and urban markets as a fresh fruit. Because it is relatively easy and quick, plan for the price risk if many growers in your area plant it at once. Get realistic per-acre yield and current price ranges for your area from your KVK and from growers already selling apple ber nearby.

Yields built up nicely by the second and third year for me. Just watch the market, when too many people harvest at once the price falls quickly.
