How do I plan a full year crop calendar across kharif, rabi and zaid?

A year round calendar plans all three seasons together so the land earns through the year and one season's crop sets up the next, instead of planning each crop in isolation. Start with your main kharif crop based on the monsoon, then a rabi crop that follows it well, and if water allows, a short zaid crop in the summer gap. A common irrigated example in North India is a kharif crop like rice, maize or cotton, then a rabi crop like wheat, mustard or chickpea, then a quick summer moong or vegetable in zaid before the next kharif. The keys are timing, so each crop is harvested in time to sow the next, soil health, so you fit a legume in the cycle and return residue, and water, so you do not plan more thirsty crops than your water can support.
