How do I claim subsidy for a polyhouse or shade net house?

Polyhouse and shade net houses are funded under MIDH protected cultivation, and the subsidy is a percentage of a fixed cost norm per square metre, commonly around 50 percent for general farmers with higher shares in hilly and north eastern states and for special categories, plus some state top ups. Because the per square metre norm is fixed, the subsidy does not rise just because your builder quotes a high price, so always compare the builder quote to the norm. The process is: apply on your state horticulture portal with land record, Aadhaar, bank passbook and a detailed estimate, get administrative approval and a work order, build the structure through an empanelled or recognised construction agency where your state requires it, get it physically measured and verified, and receive the subsidy by DBT, usually after completion. There is often a maximum area cap per beneficiary, for example up to a few thousand square metres, beyond which no subsidy is given. Polyhouses also need very tight crop management to pay back, so plan the marketing too.
