Will Sarpagandha grow in my warm humid area and what soil suits it best?
2 जवाब
Sarpagandha grows best in warm, humid climates with well distributed rainfall, so a warm humid area like yours can suit it. It wants deep, well drained, fertile soil with plenty of organic matter, and it does not like waterlogging, which rots the roots you are growing it for. Add good farmyard manure or compost and ensure drainage. It tolerates partial shade, so some growers grow it under light tree cover. Keep weeds down in the early stage. Because the value is in the root, anything that promotes healthy root growth and avoids rot helps your final price. Confirm the legal and buyer position for your state before planting, alongside checking soil suitability with your KVK.
Our humid weather suits it. Just make sure water does not stand in the field, the roots rot fast if it does.
