Recommended NPK dose for Chilli
A common ICAR style recommendation for chilli is about 100 to 120 kg N, 40 to 60 kg P2O5 and 40 to 60 kg K2O per hectare, which is roughly 40 to 48 kg N, 16 to 24 kg P2O5 and 16 to 24 kg K2O per acre, along with around 20 tonnes of FYM per hectare. Hybrids grown under drip fertigation are fed much harder, sometimes around 150 to 180 kg N, 60 to 120 kg P2O5 and 100 to 180 kg K2O per hectare, delivered in many small doses through the season. Application schedule
Apply the full phosphorus, the full potash and about one third to half of the nitrogen as a basal dose at or just after transplanting, around 10 to 15 days. Zinc deficiency appears as small, narrow upper leaves with pale areas between the veins and stunted growth, corrected with zinc sulphate in the soil or a 0.5 percent foliar spray.
