Compare the specs that affect real work, not just engine HP. Look at PTO HP (the usable power at the shaft, which drives implements), lifting capacity of the hydraulics (matters for heavy implements and trolley work), number of gears and whether it has the gear range you need, and the type of brakes and steering (power steering reduces fatigue). Also check fuel tank size, weight (heavier helps traction in tillage), tyre size, and 2WD versus 4WD. Beyond the sheet, the biggest practical factors are local service availability, spare parts cost and resale value of the brand in your area. A cheaper tractor with poor local service can cost more over its life. Ask other farmers about real fuel use and breakdowns before deciding.

PTO HP and hydraulic lift capacity told me more than engine HP when I compared two models. And I chose the brand with a service centre in my town, which has saved me many times.

Ask other farmers about real fuel use, resale value and how often the model breaks down before you decide. A cheaper tractor with poor local support cost my cousin dearly in downtime. The numbers on the sheet do not capture service and resale, which add up over the tractor's life.
