The lottery exists because the budget for machinery subsidy in a district is far smaller than the number of applicants, so a transparent random draw is used to allocate the limited funds fairly. You cannot rig the draw, but you can improve your odds and avoid wasting a selection. Apply early in the window and make sure your application is complete and error-free so it is not rejected before the draw, keep your land records, Aadhaar and bank details clean and matching, and apply under categories where you fit reserved quotas such as small, marginal, women, SC or ST farmers, which often have separate pools with better selection chances. Choose categories or implements with more budget allocation rather than the most crowded ones, and reapply in each new window since some states give weightage to repeat unselected applicants. Confirm the current category quotas and any priority rules with your agriculture office.

Maine do baar apply kiya aur lottery me naam nahi aaya. Teesri baar maine small farmer category me apply kiya jahan alag pool tha aur naam aa gaya. Apni category ke reserved quota me apply karo, chance behtar hota hai.

What helped me was applying early in the window with a complete error free form so it was not rejected before the draw. I also chose an implement with more budget rather than the most crowded one. Confirm the category quotas with your agriculture office each season.

In some states unselected applicants get weightage in the next round, so keep reapplying each window instead of giving up. I got picked the third time partly for that reason. Check with your agriculture office whether your state gives any repeat applicant priority.
