pm kusum vs free electricity, solar pump and power subsidy together, sell surplus power discom

It depends on your state policy, and the two are usually meant as alternatives rather than to stack. PM-KUSUM aims to reduce dependence on subsidised grid power by giving you a solar pump (Component B) or solarising your existing grid pump (Component C). Under Component C you can even feed surplus solar power back to the DISCOM and earn for it. Many states require that if you take a solar pump under KUSUM, you do not also keep drawing the separate free or heavily subsidised farm electricity connection for the same pump, to avoid double benefit. Check your state nodal agency or DISCOM rules before applying, so you choose the option that gives you the most benefit for your situation.

Maine apne DISCOM office me poocha to unhone bataya ki ek hi pump ke liye solar pump aur alag se free bijli dono nahi mil sakte, double benefit nahi allowed. Apply karne se pehle apne state ke niyam zaroor confirm kar lo.

Under Component C I solarised my existing grid pump and can feed surplus power back to the DISCOM. That earning was a good reason to choose it over a fresh standalone pump. Whether you go for Component B or C depends on your situation, so weigh both before deciding.

Rules differ a lot by state on whether you keep the subsidised farm connection after taking a KUSUM pump, so do not assume what worked for a farmer in another state applies to you. The nodal agency or DISCOM is the right place to confirm. Choosing the wrong option can mean losing a benefit you were counting on.
