The National Mission on Natural Farming is a centrally sponsored scheme launched to promote chemical free, low cost farming based on on farm inputs from cattle and crop residues. It works through clusters formed in willing Gram Panchayats, where each cluster covers a group of farmers over a defined area, supported by trained Krishi Sakhis or community resource persons who handhold farmers. The mission sets up bio input resource centres so farmers can get ready to use natural farming inputs nearby, and model demonstration farms at KVKs and agricultural universities. It also aims to give farmers a simple certification and common branding to market natural produce better. Any willing farmer in a participating cluster can join, especially through their Gram Panchayat or KVK. Ask your KVK or block agriculture office whether a natural farming cluster is being formed in your area and how to enrol.

Our panchayat formed a cluster and a Krishi Sakhi taught us to make Jeevamrut and Beejamrut. The bio input centre nearby saves time when I cannot prepare inputs myself. Join through the cluster, it is easier than going alone because you learn from neighbours.

I joined for the certification and branding part, hoping to sell my natural produce at a better price. The training was practical. Expect a transition period where yields settle, so do not put your whole farm in at first. Ask your KVK if a cluster is starting near you.
