Sorghum minimum support price hybrid maldandi rate per quintal current season.

For kharif marketing season 2025-26 the MSP for jowar hybrid is Rs 3,699 per quintal and for jowar maldandi it is Rs 3,749 per quintal. Maldandi, the bold lustrous rabi grain prized for bhakri, carries the slightly higher support price. Remember that government procurement of jowar is limited in many areas, so the open mandi rate often differs from MSP. Quality, grain colour and moisture content strongly affect the price you actually get, so dry and clean the grain well before sale. Confirm whether a procurement centre operates near you with your local mandi committee or agriculture department.
Maldandi always fetches more in our market because of the bhakri demand. Even above MSP some seasons if the grain is bright white and well dried. Hybrid kharif grain sells lower here.
Procurement is patchy so I depend on the open market. Clean bold grain with low moisture gets the best rate from the bhakri flour buyers.
One point people miss, kharif jowar grain often gets a fungus or black tinge if it rains at harvest, and that pulls the price down a lot. The rabi maldandi grown in the dry season stays clean and bright, which is part of why it sells higher.
Check the open mandi rate for a few days before you sell, sometimes it crosses MSP in the bhakri season and sometimes it sits below. I keep my dried grain in good bags and sell when the rate is firm rather than dumping it all at harvest.
