What is APEDA registration and is it mandatory for export?

APEDA registration gives you a Registration-Cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) and is mandatory if you want to export APEDA scheduled products such as fruits, vegetables, spices, cereals, honey, meat, dairy, floriculture, seeds and processed foods. You first need an IEC from DGFT, then apply for e-RCMC on the APEDA portal with PAN, GST, IEC, bank certificate and ID/address proof. APEDA usually issues the RCMC within about 10 to 15 days of a clean application, and it stays valid for 5 years with simple renewal.
