Brown to black round spots with concentric rings like a target, spreading from leaves to stems and pods with drying leaves and shrunken pods, is Alternaria blight, the common leaf and pod blight of mustard. Infection on pods directly shrinks the seed and cuts oil, and it worsens in cloudy humid weather. Remove infected debris and avoid continuous mustard in the same field, since the fungus survives on residue and seed. A recommended fungicide seed treatment helps at the start, and a foliar fungicide at first appearance of spots with a repeat as per label protects the pods during the wet period, rotating fungicide groups. Mancozeb and similar protectants are commonly advised, but follow the label dose and PHI and the local recommendation. Timely sowing and balanced nutrition reduce severity. Confirm the disease and fungicide with your KVK or DRMR Bharatpur.
It hit my pods in a cloudy spell and the seed came out small. Now I keep an eye out in cloudy weather and spray at the first target spots, not after the pods are affected.
