Most farm subsidies are applied online through state portals because schemes are implemented state by state. Common ones are: Maharashtra MahaDBT (mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in), Rajasthan Raj Kisan Sathi (rajkisan.rajasthan.gov.in), Madhya Pradesh e-Krishi Yantra Anudan for machinery and mphorticulture.gov.in for horticulture, plus similar agriculture department portals in other states. For solar pumps use your state PM-KUSUM portal linked from mnre.gov.in, and for central scheme details see the MIDH and SMAM pages of agriwelfare.gov.in. Register once with Aadhaar and bank details, then you can apply for machinery, drip, polyhouse and pond schemes. Selection is often by lottery, so apply early when the window opens.

If you are not sure which portal or scheme covers what you want, your block agriculture office or the Krishi Vigyan Kendra is the safest first stop. They told me exactly which portal to use for my implement and helped with the first application. It saved me hunting on the wrong site.

Watch the official URL carefully. There are lookalike sites and agents that charge to do a free government application. The genuine ones are state government domains. I always reach them through the state agriculture department home page rather than a random search link.

Set up one login and keep your Aadhaar, land record and bank passbook scanned in a folder. Most state portals let you apply for machinery, drip, polyhouse and pond from the same profile, so once registered you can jump on any window quickly when it opens.

Schemes and even portal addresses change between states and over time, so do not assume a friend's link from another state works for you. Confirm the live portal for your own state and the current scheme list each year before you rely on it.

An e-Mitra, CSC or Aaple Sarkar kind of common service centre can do the upload for you if the portal feels hard. They charge a small fee, give a receipt with the application number, and you keep that to track the lottery. Useful if you do not have a good internet connection at home.

Once you submit, note your application or token number and check the status and lottery results yourself rather than waiting for a call. Many genuine sanctions lapse because the farmer did not see the result in time and missed the window to buy. I keep a reminder on my phone for the result date.
