How do I get my soil tested and field problem diagnosed at a KVK?

Take a proper composite soil sample before you visit, because a bad sample gives a useless report. Walk a zig zag across the field, scrape away surface trash, and dig small V shaped cuts to about plough depth at eight to ten spots, putting a slice from each into a clean bucket. Mix it all well, then keep about half a kilo, air dry it in shade, and bag it with a label showing your name, village, field and the crop you plan to grow. Carry it to the KVK and ask them three things: the test report with pH, organic carbon and the main nutrients, a clear fertiliser and amendment recommendation for your next crop, and a look at your yellowing problem, taking a few affected plants and photos so the scientist can tell if it is a nutrient shortage, waterlogging or a disease. A small fee may apply for the test itself, while the advice is generally free. Confirm the testing days and any charge with your KVK before going.
