Farm pond subsidy percentage under horticulture mission and watershed schemes.

Yes, farm ponds and water harvesting structures get support, commonly around 50 percent of an approved cost norm under MIDH horticulture for a standard lined pond, and additional help comes through watershed programmes and MGNREGA convergence for unlined community ponds. A lined pond with plastic film stores rainwater and lets you give life-saving irrigation in dry spells, especially useful with a drip system. Apply through your state horticulture or agriculture department, or your gram panchayat for MGNREGA-based ponds, with land records, Aadhaar and bank details. The subsidy is released after the pond is dug and measured. Confirm the current size norm, rate and which scheme applies in your district.

I made a lined farm pond and now I store monsoon water for the rabi crop. Combined with drip it saved my standing crop during a dry patch. The MGNREGA route worked for the digging part in our village.

The subsidy and the lining are usually counted separately in the horticulture norm, the digging and the plastic film. Budget for the film, it is what stops seepage in sandy soil. My first pond without good lining lost water fast until I relined it properly.

There is a size norm that the subsidy is measured against, and the field staff measure the actual dimensions after digging. Dig to the sanctioned size or a bit more, but the subsidy is paid only up to the norm. Keep the JCB receipts and photos for the measurement visit.
