Why are these state schemes called PM-Kisan top-ups and which states have them?

A PM-Kisan top-up means a state has its own farmer income-support scheme that adds money on top of the central PM-Kisan, usually by reusing the same PM-Kisan beneficiary list and the same Aadhaar-linked bank account. So an eligible farmer in such a state gets the central support plus the state support in the same year. Maharashtra runs Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi as a top-up, Madhya Pradesh runs Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana, and several other states have their own farmer-support or top-up schemes under various names. Some state schemes are not pure top-ups but stand-alone investment-support schemes with their own eligibility, such as Rythu Bharosa in Andhra Pradesh, Rythu Bandhu in Telangana, KALIA in Odisha, and Krishak Bandhu in West Bengal, which is why the rules and amounts differ a lot by state. Because states add, rename, and revise these schemes often, do not assume your state has one or that an old amount still holds. Check the official state agriculture portal or your local agriculture office for what is currently running where your land is, and keep your PM-Kisan record clean since it is the gateway for the top-up type.
