MIDH is not only for fruit orchards. Area expansion under the mission also covers vegetables, spices, flowers, aromatic and medicinal plants and plantation crops, depending on what your state has opened. For vegetables the support often comes as assistance on hybrid seed or planting material for a given area, with a per hectare cost norm and a subsidy share, rather than a multi year orchard payment. Spices and flowers have their own area expansion norms too. The point is that the menu in any given state and year is decided by the State Horticulture Mission based on its priorities and budget, so a crop supported in one state may not be open in another. Perennial crops like fruit trees get the staggered, survival linked payment, while seasonal crops like vegetables usually get a one time per area assistance. Check which crops have area expansion targets this year, the per hectare norm and the subsidy percentage for your specific vegetable, spice or flower on your state horticulture portal, and confirm with the district horticulture office before buying seed or planting material.

Sabzi, masala, phool sab aate hain MIDH me, sirf phal nahi. Par har state apna list banata hai, to apne state me kaun sa crop khula hai woh pehle pata karo.

For vegetables it is often a one time per area help on hybrid seed, not the multi year thing fruit trees get. So plan it as a single season benefit and buy seed from an approved source so the bill is accepted.
