Realistically, from applying on the portal to money in hand, how long does an Agriculture Infrastructure Fund loan take? Want to plan my construction timeline.

There is no single fixed timeline, because the speed depends mostly on your bank and how ready your application is, not on the portal. The portal registration and application is quick, often a matter of days, but the real time goes into the bank's appraisal of your project, which is like any term loan, they assess viability, verify land and documents, possibly inspect the site, and then sanction. With a clean, complete project report and a bank branch that knows the scheme, sanction can move reasonably fast. With an incomplete application, an unfamiliar branch, or back-and-forth on documents, it can stretch into months. After sanction, disbursement is usually staged against project progress, for example money released as construction reaches milestones, rather than all at once, which also affects your timeline. To plan construction sensibly, do not order materials or commit to contractors on the assumption of a fixed sanction date. Get the sanction first, understand the disbursement schedule, and align your build to the milestone releases. To speed things up, prepare a strong project report, keep all documents ready, choose a bank experienced with AIF or use a promoting agency, arrange your margin money, and follow up regularly. Ask your specific lending bank for their typical turnaround, and confirm current process steps on the official AIF agriinfra portal. This is general information and not financial advice.
Mine was staged, money came as construction hit milestones, not in one go. Plan your contractor payments around that or you will be short of cash mid-build.
Having every document ready upfront cut my back-and-forth a lot. The delay is almost always missing papers or a branch that is new to the scheme.
